| Two sessions were necessary to accomodate the 98 participants who signed up for the second annual Chemeketan Intro to Snowshoeing training. The large turnout was attributed to a very nice feature written by the Statesman Journal Outdoor Editor, Henry Miller. The two 7 p.m. training sessions were given by Steve Dougherty on Thursday, December 8 and Tuesday, December 13 at the Chemekeden. Topics included snowshoe equipment, how to dress for a snowshoe day trip, winter sport etiquette, and logistics for the Maxwell and Potato Hill beginner snowshoe trips. There was no charge for the two hour trainings.
